The Michelin Guide Tokyo 2017 was unveiled online on Monday, November 28 with Miysaka and Amamoto both recieving two stars.  There were no new three stars but 16 restaurants received one star for the first time and four restaurants celebrated a decade holding three stars.

A total of 542 restaurants and 43 hotels were listed in this year’s guide with 66 of those entering the guide for the first time.

The Japanese restaurant, Miysaka and Sushi bar, Amamoto both earned two stars whilst a further 16 achieved one star for the first time along with 48 establishments that achieved a Bib Gourmand for their affordable fine dining.

This year marked a landmark year for the guide as it celebrates its tenth anniversary. For four establishments this meant they had each retained their three stars for 10 consecutive years since the Michelin Guide Tokyo was launched back in 2007. The four restaurants to maintain their three stars for a decade include Japanese dining restaurant Kanda, the main branch of sushi bar Sukiyabashi Jiro, and French restaurants Quintessence and Joel Robuchon.

You can view the full list for free via the Japanese edition of the Club Michelin website until the end of Thursday before the print edition is released on Friday.
