Technology has come a long way since the first interactive photo-editing filters. Snapchat gave us the bumblebee, rainbow vomit and giant eye overlays, which were novel at the time but soon became dull to most but 16 year-old influencers.

Then came Russian company Wireless Lab's FaceApp, which uses neural network technology to create realistic predictions of what people would look like if they wore makeup, were of the opposite gender, or - the most popular usecase, were much older.

Unsurprisingly, ever the mature bunch, chefs are big fans. Here's our pick of the best FaceApp Challenge pictures we spotted online:

Paul Ainsworth and head chef at No6 in Padstow, John Walton

We're sure they'll make fine grandparents some day

Gordon, Gino and Fred

Okay, Fred's not a chef, but he's aged well too

Aaron Mulliss

The chef has sure matured since leaving The Hand and Flowers
