In a survey conducted by Amore di Gelato it has been revealed that 75% of diners suggested that they rarely or never order dessert when eating out. It's also been found that 80% of dinners said they would but only if they felt the options would be of a guaranteed high quality standard. The survey carried out by Amore di Gelato aimed to gain insight into diners’ attitudes to desserts across the Out-of-Home channel that includes restaurants, pubs and casual dining outlets. Diners also suggested that they would be happy to pay as much for a dessert as they would a starter at an average of £7 (65%). Also, that a well-promoted premium offering would command an average of an extra £1.50 (80%), evidencing the potential for operators to drive ‘profits from puddings’.
