The Staff Canteen
Bel & The Dragon at The Swan will be taking its place in the Hampshire village of Kingsclere this spring. The new country inn will emulate Bel & The Dragon’s cosy and classic manner, with nine en-suite bedrooms and an extensive selection of wine and British food. Drink ImageOllie Vigors, founder and director of Longshot Country Inns said: “Having grown up in Kingsclere, I am delighted to be part of the team responsible for bringing Bel & The Dragon to the stunning setting, that is The Swan in Kingsclere." Group head chef Ronnie Kimbugwe, has hand crafted a menu to complement the local British produce available in the area. With an emphasis on provenance and quality, Ronnie makes modern adaptations of simple classics. The menu will include dishes such as a sustainable fish pie and English veal bolognaise alongside daily fish specials. The rotisserie menu will include roasted suckling pig, whilst grilled Atlantic lobster and zucchini frites with garlic butter will be cooked using the Josper grill. The pudding menu will include a warm gooey gluten free chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream and a Sipsmith vodka & lemon zest sorbet.Bedroom Image Bel & The Dragon at The Swan’s interior has been designed by Nicola Harding. In every space lie books and hand-picked antiques. Whilst the restaurant seats 50, a private dining room has been designed to cater for more intimate gatherings with family, friends and colleagues. Joel Cadbury, founder and director of Longshot Country Inns said: “We are delighted to be opening Bel and the Dragon at The Swan in Kingsclere. We will restore this stunning historic building to its former glory, so that it is once again the heart of the community. Our focus is on seasonal and local produce, as well as using the best of British ingredients. Whether joining us for lunch, tea or dinner, or even spending the night, we hope to make people feel at home.”
