Burns Night - who's celebrating?

Burns Night is a night to experience Scottish food, music and culture and where many will eat the traditional dish of haggis and honour Robert Burns, the bard of Scotland. So to mark the occasion we’re taking a look at who is serving what for this Scottish celebration.

Great Northern Hotel

This year in honour of Robert Burns, Plum + Spilt Milk will be serving a warming Burns Night supper on Sunday 25th January with hearty haggis, neeps and tatties. The four course whisky pairing menu costs £60 per person. To extend the celebrations, enjoy the special Burn’s night package including an overnight stay and the whisky pairing dinner in Plum + Spilt Milk for £220 per person. More info on the menu here

Bonnie Gull

Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack will be putting on a Burns Night menu for the Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack – the Burns Night inspired menu items will be served alongside some of the usual Bonnie Gull favourites too – all of which are subject to change depending on the catch of the day. Bonnie Gull Seafood Café will also have a number of Burns Night inspired dishes available alongside the usual a la carte. Dishes will include wild mushroom and haggis Pitivier pie, portobello, neeps and tatties and Cloutie dumpling with Drambuie custard. Head to their website here

Blueprint Café

Join Blueprint Café on Saturday 24th January to celebrate Burns Night in style and enjoy three-courses for £28.50 from head chef Martyn Moody’s set menu. Highlights from the menu include; Cockaleekie with a twist; Blueprint Scotch broth, pearly barley, baby neeps; Traditional Scottish haggis, with all the twimmings; Scottish oatcakes, whisky cream, roasted pears; and Clootie Dumpling, clotted cream ice cream. Plateau

On 24th January, the Grill at Plateau will be serving a Burns Night inspired 5 course set menu. Priced at £35, the menu includes: Smoke salmon, bilinis, baby watercress; Cockie a leekie soup; Traditional haggis with neeps and tatties (served with a shot of 15 yr old Glenfiddich); and Cranachan. Paternoster Chop House

Celebrate Burns Night at Paternoster Chop House on either Friday 23rd January and Sunday 25th January and indulge in their haggis with Dalmore whisky pairings. The restaurant will also be offering whisky pairings with selected market dishes on offer.
