Chef Gaetano Farucci to join Caractère as head chef
Chef Gaetano Farucci has been made head chef of Caractère in Notting Hill, London
In a post on Instagram, the chef announced his move to Caractére and his excitement to join the team.
Caractère is co-owned by Diego Ferrari and Emily Roux, daughter of Michel Roux Jr, and thus this move will see Gaetano rejoin Diego. As they previously worked together during Gaetano's nearly nine years at the two Michelin-starred La Gavroche, where both chefs had the role of head chef.
In the announcement, Gaetano said: "I could not be happier to start this new Caractère-ful adventure with a friend, a great professional like Emily Roux and a fantastic restaurant like Caractère."
In an announcement on Caractère's Instagram, regarding
the partnership of Gaetano and Diego, the restaurant said: "Both gentlemen are fiercely passionate about their trade and by combining forces Caractère is sure to reach new heights."
Caractère focuses on a casual and contemporary dining experience with a warm and friendly atmosphere which will hopefully fit Gaetano's culinary style well.
Gaetano has a long history in the culinary world notably working for just under nine years at Michel Roux Jr's two-Michelin-starred restaurant, La Gavroche, starting back in 2013 as a commis chef before working his way up to head chef in 2018.
Gaetano left La Gavroche in January 2022 to take the role of head chef at the restaurant, Sexy Fish, in London.
