A landmark London restaurant is reborn as Vivek Singh’s The Cinnamon Club, London’s original fine dining modern Indian restaurant re-opens tomorrow following a £1million transformation ahead of its 15th anniversary. cinammon5Set within the grand GradeII listed Old Westminster Library, The Cinnamon Club’s book-lined shelves and traditional features have been updated and elevated with dashes of colourand contemporary furnishings. Vivek Singh and head chef Rakesh Ravindran Nair have developed a stunning new menu that combines The Cinnamon Club’s signatures with new dishes and celebratory platters. A roaming gin trolley offers cocktails to clink from lunch through to supper. Dishes adding to the restaurant’s convivial atmosphere, Vivek and Rakesh introduce celebratory sharing dishes. Carved and served tableside for between two and eight guests, the new sharing platters are perfect for special celebrations
and lingering suppers. Dishes include exclusive ingredients to The Cinnamon Club such as the very special milk-fed Herdwick lamb, a slowly-braised shoulder of highly sought after lamb from the Lake District served with saffron sauce, pomegranate pilau, burhani raita and coriander chutney. A three-course set feast for tables of four or more included dishes of Kerala spiced seafood bisque cinammon 3flamed with brandy; banana chilli with fengreek, raisin and bitter gourdin chickpea batter and dessert of spiced banana tarte tatin with thandai ice cream. The Cinnamon Club’s long-established take on game classics and delicately spiced fish remain on the menu with signature dishes of wild Spencer Gulf king prawns with coconut ginger sauce and red quinoa and clove smoked grouse breast with rustict awa mince and black lentils.The original tasting menu will feature new seasonal options.
