Cup of Kindness is asking cafés to donate $1 from every coffee sold this October, with businesses able to take part for a single day, selected dates or across the month
For hospitality businesses that serve coffee, October brings a simple way to turn everyday sales into support for young people.
Cup of Kindness launches on 1 October through Youth Off The Streets and Smith St Coffee Roasters, asking participating cafés to donate $1 from every coffee sold during their chosen fundraising period.
Businesses do not have to commit to the entire month.
They can take part for one day, choose selected dates or continue the fundraiser throughout October, giving operators flexibility around how the campaign fits their business.
A simple way to take part
The campaign is built around coffee sales already happening in participating venues.
A business can choose one day, several dates across October or continue the $1 donation throughout the month.
Smith St Coffee Roasters is also supporting participating venues directly.
The roaster is donating the first $1,000 to the campaign and offering participating cafés up to 3kg of complimentary coffee beans.
The bean offer is available to businesses that are not existing Smith St customers.
Supporting Youth Off The Streets
Funds raised through Cup of Kindness will support Youth Off The Streets and its work with young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness and disadvantage.
For hospitality operators with coffee as part of their daily offer, the campaign provides several ways to participate without requiring a full-month commitment.
Cup of Kindness launches on 1 October.
