First new King’s Road pub in a century: The Trafalgar

The Staff Canteen

Three Cheers Pub Co. by Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox have opened The Trafalgar Public House in Chelsea.

This venture transforms a Grade II Listed former bank on the Cadogan Estate into what’s being hailed as the first new public house on the King’s Road in living memory.

A historic shell, a new social hub

Built by Sir Reginald Blomfield, the two-floor site has been reimagined as a neighbourhood anchor - a place to pop in for a pint, order the “best cheese and ham toastie”, linger over English sparkling wine, or make a night of it with a three-course dinner and a DJ downstairs.

Five-metre ceilings, large Georgian windows and ornate plasterwork meet a warm, handsome fit-out: an impressive bar, intimate booths, oversized chandeliers, leather dining chairs and vintage artwork - a look that feels timeless and relaxed rather than showy.

Downstairs: built for live nights and private parties

The basement turns up the volume with a first-class sound system, antique mirrored ceiling and a hidden bar. Expect an exclusive roster of live music, creative arts and cabaret, plus a weekly comedy headliner.

Tom Peake, co-owner, Three Cheers Pub Co. said:

"We are delighted to be taking on this historic site and creating a wonderful new public house, a home from home for Chelsea locals and visitors alike.

"We are proud to be a part of this exciting development and look forward to bringing a real sense of community and connection to the area that only a proper British pub can.”

Hugh Seaborn, chief executive, Cadogan added: “The Trafalgar will be a great addition to the King’s Road. Pubs are a central part of community life and we are proud to be reintroducing not just a brilliant pub, but one that will contribute towards Chelsea’s fantastic arts scene with unmissable music, theatre, comedy and performance. We know that it will be welcomed by locals and become a new destination for those visiting Chelsea.”

Why this opening matters

New openings on King’s Road are rare - new pubs even rarer. The Trafalgar fuses best-of-British pub hospitality with a purpose-built performance space, giving locals a flexible “meet, eat and be entertained” hub that can work for lunch, after-work drinks, date night or late-night culture - all under one roof.
