Former head of sales at Caterer and Hotelkeeper joins The Staff Canteen

The Staff Canteen is delighted to welcome Shaun Barton, former head of sales at Caterer and Hotelkeeper, to our sales team. Shaun said: "I am very excited to join The Staff Canteen team at a time when Digital Media is becoming core to any balanced marketing campaign. "During my many years in hospitality media, I have watched The Staff Canteen grow and develop into a powerful online community for professional chefs and I am delighted to be able to work with the team as the shift to online media accelerates." As the new commercial director Shaun will be responsible for developing even deeper partnerships with key customers  and creating sales strategies going forward. Shaun has over 20 years experience within media, working in various head of sales positions for Reed Business Information, one of the largest global publishers. Shaun managed global sales teams across a number of different sectors including aviation, commercial property, technology, science and hospitality. Shaun headed up the commercial teams for Caterer and Hotelkeeper for six years, up until the end of 2012. The Staff Canteen managing director, Mark Morris, said about the appointment: "As a business we see a huge value in adding someone of the calibre of Shaun to our sales team, not only in terms of the experience and extensive wealth of industry knowledge he brings, but it also highlights our commitment to progress. We are delighted to be in a position where the Staff Canteen can attract a person of Shaun's expertise to join us and are very excited about this phase of our development." Shaun is also the Owner/Director of a recruitment and consultancy services business. Outside of work he enjoys quality time with his family and is a keen sportsman, with football, golf and cycling taking up most of his spare time.
