On Monday 1st February at 5pm, Channel 4 will launch new series Come Dine Champion of Champions, with Michelin-starred Chef Glynn Purnell joining the man behind the voice of Come Dine With Me, Dave Lamb, as a judge on the show. A brand new take on one of Channel 4’s most successful and purnells31longest-running programmes, each episode of Come Dine Champion of Champions will see three past winners return to take on three culinary challenges each day. The winner of each heat will go through to an even greater challenge, airing on the Friday of each week, in which they will compete to be crowned Champion. In an added twist, sure to make for compulsive viewing, contestants will also face the judgement of their former contestants, with some joyous reunions and other, less amicable, encounters! Bringing years of culinary expertise to the table, Glynn will lend a well-trained palate and knowing eye to the judging of the competition. Affectionately known as the Yummy Brummie, he owns and runs Purnell’s in
Birmingham. Winning dozens of awards for his inspired and adventurous cooking, Glynn has remained firmly rooted in his home city and won Birmingham’s first Michelin star in January 2005 as Head Chef at Jessica’s, going on to win a star for his own venture, Purnell’s, in 2009.
