Great British Menu chef opens first solo restaurant in Belfast

The Staff Canteen

A new European small plate restaurant, Beau is set to open its doors in Belfast.

Located in the Cathedral Quarter on Warehouse Lane, Beau promises to serve dishes made with local, seasonal produce in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

The restaurant is the debut solo venture of chef Lottie Noren, who made a name for herself as one of the chefs on the Great British Menu in 2024.

About Lottie

Originally from the Lake District, Lottie has become a key figure in Belfast’s food scene. She moved to Belfast over a decade ago, where she met her fiancé and started a family.

Lottie began her culinary career at 16, working as a pot washer at a café in the Lake District. Inspired by a meal at the renowned L’Enclume, she pursued a career in cooking. Over the years, she worked in top restaurants, including Hadskis in Belfast and The Old Swan in the Cotswolds.

In 2024, she competed on BBC’s Great British Menu, representing Northern Ireland. She embraced the challenges of the show, pushing herself out of her comfort zone.

Set to open on May 20, Beau will focus on bold flavors, honest cooking, and seasonal local produce, creating a relaxed yet special dining experience.

Beau will focus on bold flavours and honest cooking, offering a menu that is both special and unpretentious. The restaurant aims to provide a comfortable yet refined dining experience with attention to detail.

The space has been revitalised through the Vacant to Vibrant initiative, which helped transform a vacant unit on Warehouse Lane that had been unused for 16 years.

Bookings for Beau are now open, and the team is excited to welcome guests starting tomorrow.
