Heston Blumenthal steps away from the stove and gets his table tennis bat out for Sport Relief

The Staff Canteen
Tomorrow world renowned chef Heston Blumenthal will be fundraising for Sport Relief by taking part in a charity table tennis event and tournament. An avid player with his own personal trainer, Heston will be holding an open auction - with the highest bidder winning a match with the man himself.  After many years of kickboxing and cricket, Heston turned his hand to table tennis and soon found it was a great way to focus and perfect his finesse. He said:“Table tennis is really good fun and very intense. I find it a great way to unwind as its all you can focus on when you’re playing as its such a fast sport.  Its great to be able to do my bit for Sport Relief and I can’t wait to pick up my bat for such a worthwhile cause.  I hope we will raise lots of money on the day.” To enter, call 07958735935 or email [email protected], stating your name, contact number and skill level. Entry fee is a minimum donation of £3, with all proceeds going directly to Sport Relief.  The event is being hosted at Britannia Leisure Centre, Hyde Road, London N1 on Saturday the 2nd April, 12pm – 3pm. Non-attendees can donate online at: www.justgiving.com/BritanniaTTCsportrelief.
