Hospitality Action launch first ever lunch box day

On Friday 23 October industry charity Hospitality Action is calling on all hospitality employers to take part in their first ever Lunch Box Day. LBD - Jason and IrhaThis brand new fundraising initiative asks all companies that provide lunch for its employees to encourage their staff to bring a packed lunch to work on this dedicated day. The money saved by the company will then be donated to Hospitality Action. Alternatively employers can simply make a straight forward donation to Hospitality Action on behalf of their team. Ace Hotel in Shoreditch and Sauce Communications are amongst the first companies to sign up and the charity is encouraging all participants
to tweet their lunches on Friday 23 October using #SandwichSelfie and @HospAction. Penny Moore, chief executive of Hospitality Action, said: “Lunch Boy Day is an easy way for companies to support Hospitality Action and raise awareness of the charity with their teams. By supporting this brand new fundraising initiative and making a charitable contribution you will be directly assisting those in need.” Between January to August this year Hospitality Action received 15% more applications for assistance and spent 34% more supporting industry works in crisis compared to the same period last year.
