Le Cordon Bleu Japan offers Japanese cuisine bursary programme for foreign students

The Staff Canteen
Le Cordon Bleu Japan are calling for applicants for their Japanese Cuisine Bursary Programme, which takes place over eight months starting in July 2016. cordon515 lucky participants will take part in a basic language class followed by on-campus training at Le Cordon Bleu Tokyo before heading off for a six month internship at a reputable Japanese or sushi restaurant in Tokyo or Kyoto. The culinary programme, which is based in Japan, will be fully funded by Le Cordon Bleu. It will include a round-trip to Japan, accommodation expenses, uniform and tool kit, alongside a daily allowance of 1,000 yen. Developed by a project initiated by the Organisation for Fostering Human Resources for the Promotion of Japanese Cuisine and Food Culture, the course is targeted at foreign residents interested in learning the basics of Japanese cuisine. The project was developed in order to promote authentic Japanese cuisine, and encourage chefs around the world to learn the skills. Applications close on May 22, 2016 for the programme which spans between July 2016 and February 2017.
