Competition gives chefs the chance to 'butter up' Phil Howard

The Staff Canteen

A new campaign by Unilever Food Solutions group, is giving chefs the opportunity to work with Michelin-starred chef Phil Howard for a day! The ‘Butter me up’ project aims to promote the new Meadowland Professional 250g product, which tastes and cooks in the same way as butter does, but is made of a mixture of vegetable oil and buttermilk. The online element of the competition will also see chefs being imaginative and creating dishes to show their talents. Rhodri Morgan, marketing manager for Meadowland Professional 250g, said: “We know how demanding life as a chef is and the pressure of costs is always a challenge. Meadowland 250g has been designed to achieve the same results as butter in cooking, baking and frying without compromising the quality and taste of the finished dish.”

“At Unilever Food Solutions our aim is to remove hassle and give chefs the freedom to focus on creating great food. We developed the ‘Butter me up’ campaign to celebrate creativity and reward one chef with the opportunity to learn from one of the biggest names in the industry.” The winning chef will work alongside Phil Howard, chef and co-owner of two-Michelin star restaurant, The Square. During his time in the winner’s kitchen, Phil will teach and share his knowledge with the chef on topics such as menu development, demonstrating dishes and cooking techniques, he will also offer tips on how to keep customers satisfied. Phil said: “There is some great talent out there and often it’s the little tweaks and touches of personality that make something stand out. The campaign is an opportunity for chefs to take a step back and think differently about how they do things. I’m really looking forward to seeing the entries.” Chefs are being encouraged to be creative with their entries, and can submit poems, films or even throw an event around the Meadowland Professional 250g product.
