Michelin-starred Fera which is located within Claridge’s hotel in Mayfair will close at the end of the year.

A spokesperson for the Maybourne Hotel Group, which owns the luxury hotel confirmed that Fera will be closing and the last dinner service will on 31st December 2018.

There are rumours that the restaurant is going to be taken over by the same team that is behind New York’s Eleven Madison Park, but the same spokesperson said to 'expect an announcement before the end of the year'.

Fera, the Latin word for ‘wild’, reflects the powerful connection to nature that’s at the heart of the restaurant. It opened in 2014 with Simon Rogan and his head chef Dan Cox

at the helm. It gained a michlein star one year later. Simon who also owns two-Michelin-starred L’Enclume and Michelin-starred Roganic in London, left in 2017 and his protégé Matt Starling took over.

Simon spoke to The Staff Canteen when he left in April 2017 and said: “It’s been a pleasure working with Claridge’s for a successful and enjoyable three years, and as the time has come to move on, we do so with excitement for the future and grateful for our time at Fera.”

Prior to Fera, Gordon Ramsay held the space at the hotel as Gordon Ramsay at Claridges. It held its last service on 30 June 2013 after 12 years at the five-star hotel.
