Asian restaurant Roka is preparing to open its doors in Mayfair on 17 February. Creator and founder Rainer Becker’s aim was to make Roka Mayfair a relaxed yet elegant dining destination in the heart of London. Located on North Audley Street, between Marble Arch and Bond Street, Roka will bring its unique style of contemporary Japanese Robatakyi cuisine and its sophisticated urban design to the centre of the capital. The main centrepiece of the restaurant is the robata grill, which is an integral design element of the room and the source of vibrant energy inside the establishment. Roka Group Executive Chef, Hamish Brown, has come up with an extensive menu that features some of Roka’s most celebrated signature dishes like lamb cutlets with Korean spices, as well as new offerings such as rice hot pot with lobster. A selection of sushi and sashimi will also be available. The interior of Roka Mayfair will showcase the collaboration between Rainer Becker and designer Noriyoshi Muramatsu of Studio Glitt. A variety of textures have been used including reclaimed and natural wood, raw steel, casted concrete and oxidised copper while the walls feature a selection of hand-painted Japanese prints. The main dining room will seat 80 guests with a further 26 at the robata counter. Guests will also be able to dine outside where a terrace seating 12 will be available. Roka Mayfair will be open for lunch from Monday to Friday between 12-3pm and 12-4.30pm on Sundays. The restaurant re-opens for dinner from 5.30-11.30pm from Monday-Saturday and 5.30-10.30pm on Sundays and bank holidays. Reservations can be made from tomorrow by calling 020 7305 5644.
