Renowned for marrying the fresh and vibrant flavours of her native West Bengal with local West Country ingredients, Romy has been lauded for bringing a welcome lightness of touch and healthy perspective to Indian cooking. The menu will take diners on a culinary grand tour of the subcontinent. Starting with the fresh and vibrant tastes of Kerala in the south (deep-fired grated potatoes, chopped onions, fresh coriander, green chillies, desiccated coconut, peanuts and spices with avocado mint dip). The savoury courses take in several states, culminating with a rich and complex boar dish from royal Rajasthan (Laal Mass wild boar marintaed in yoghurt, red kashmiri chilli and corinader with yellow dal, rice and onion salad). A sweet course comes in the form of rice pudding from Hyderabady fragrant with saffron and cardamon. The 50-cover restaurant includes an al fresco dining terrace and outdoor back garden space, and plays host to an ever revolving line-up of guest chefs from around the world including Mexican chef Oswaldo Oliva (El Celler de Can Roca), Swiss-born Bjorn Van Der Horst (Picholine, Gaia, The Greenhouse), Portuguese chef Leandro Carriera (Mugaritz, Viajante) and the duo behind GRO in Stockholm, Sweden. Romy will be at the Carousel from Tuesday 5 January - Saturday 9 January and Tuesday 12 January - Saturday 16 January, 2016. Tickets cost £35 each and can be booked here. For further information please contact info@carousel-london or call 020 7487 5564.
