Sam Nash has been appointed e-commerce and events partnerships executive chef at UMBEL Restaurants, marking a promotion from his previous role as events head chef within Simon Rogan’s restaurant group.

The newly created position followed continued year-on-year growth across both Home by Simon Rogan and the group’s expanding international events programme, alongside wider expansion plans scheduled for 2026 and beyond.

A long-standing career within the Simon Rogan group

Sam first joined L’Enclume in June 2012 as sous chef, beginning a long association with Simon Rogan’s businesses. He went on to be appointed head chef of Rogan and Co in November 2019, before leading the opening of Prévost at Haycock Manor Hotel as head chef.

In October 2023, Sam returned to the group as events head chef, a role that coincided with a significant expansion of Rogan’s off-site and international projects. During this period, he oversaw and supported events across the UK, Norway and Australia, helping to deliver some of the group’s most high-profile dining experiences.

These included Simon Rogan’s long-running Parade Ring Restaurant at Royal Ascot, now entering its seventh year, a six-week L’Enclume residency at Sydney’s Bathers’ Pavilion in both 2023 and 2025, and the launch of the Belmond Britannic Explorer, a luxury train introduced in summer 2025 featuring dining experiences designed by Simon.

Supporting global events and future growth

Looking ahead, the events calendar will continue to expand. Plans for 2026 include a return to Royal Ascot for an eighth year and the launch of a new dining experience at the Australian Open in January 2026, with further international projects set to be announced over the coming months.

In his expanded role, Sam will continue

to play a central part in shaping these experiences, while also taking on responsibility for the group’s growing e-commerce offer.

Developing Home by Simon Rogan

As e-commerce executive chef, Sam will work closely with the e-commerce team to support the ongoing development of Home by Simon Rogan. The platform was launched in 2020 in response to lockdown and has since evolved into a significant part of the business.

Home by Simon Rogan offers three-course meal kits and seasonal menus for occasions such as Christmas, New Year and Easter, all prepared by the group’s chefs in the Lake District using produce from Our Farm and trusted local suppliers.

Alongside meal boxes, the online shop has expanded to include a curated range of condiments, preserves, pickles and small-batch essentials made by Our Farm head chef Liam Fitzpatrick, using surplus produce from the farm, as well as seasonal gifting and hampers.

Over the next year, the offering is set to grow further, with new product launches planned that continue to reflect the group’s emphasis on seasonality and sustainability.

‘Well placed to showcase our ethos’

Commenting on his promotion, Sam said: “I’m so proud to take on this new role within UMBEL Restaurants and am looking forward to pushing the boundaries of our Home by Simon Rogan offering next year. After many years working within different areas of the business, I feel well placed to showcase Simon Rogan’s ethos and cooking philosophy at events at home and abroad.”

Simon Rogan added: “Sam has been with us for such a long time, so we wanted to reward his talent and hard work. He really understands our vision and will be crucial in executing our expansion plans over the next couple of years.”
