Shaun Rankin to bring Jersey to London

The Staff Canteen
Michelin-starred Jersey chef Shaun Rankin is to head to the capital as he has been selected by Mayfair members club 12 Hay Hill to manage the food and menus across the club’s brasserie, deli-style dining in the basement bar and a light menu for al-fresco dining on the terrace. The chef from Jersey restaurant, Ormer, will expand his profile as well as put Jersey producers on the map as it will offer them a prestigious showcase and a further chance to strengthen Jersey’s reputation as a catalyst for gastronomic excellence.Shaun Shaun said: “12 Hay Hill is an exciting proposition and an important milestone for me. My intention has always been to expand the business portfolio whilst generating a wider market for Jersey produce. The Hay Hill management team have totally embraced the island-inspired philosophy and I am thrilled to showcase my best suppliers to their members in the heart of Mayfair”. 12 Hay Hill is due to open in the first quarter of 2015 and will be Shaun’s first establishment outside the Channel Islands. It promises to deliver a new breed of club for the international business sector, offering members a luxurious environment in which to work and play all under one roof. Shaun is currently recruiting a strong in-house London team to manage the day-to-day management of the array of dining facilities for the exciting new club. He will continue to run his flagship restaurant Ormer in Jersey, which achieved a Michelin star this year and was named ‘Best Newcomer’ at the coveted Food and Travel Magazine Awards 2014 Each menu will be bountiful with Jersey produce when in season, expect dishes featuring Jersey lobster, crab and oysters, Jersey Royals from the Island’s smallholders, hand-dived scallops from Jersey’s spectacular shoreline and foraged herbs handpicked from coastal cliffs. logoThe individual club memberships are aimed at both the emerging business leaders of London and those that wish to have a social hub in Mayfair. Club members have unlimited access to the ground floor bar and lounge (with hot desk space), a gym with shower facilities, a further restaurant and cigar terrace on the third floor and access to other business facilities including meeting rooms. Simon Robinson, Chief Executive of 12 Hay Hill, said: “By partnering with Shaun Rankin, 12 Hay Hill is emphasising the standard of club we intend to provide for London’s business elite. Both our office tenants and individual members will be able to enjoy high quality food in all our dining areas or at their desks. Shaun’s international profile and award-winning restaurant brought him to our attention and it’s the perfect time to bring him into London.” Find out more about the club here: 12 Hay Hill
