Sonny's KitcheN in the south west London Borough of Richmond-Upon-Thames is set to close 33 years after opened.

Rebecca Mascarenhas opened the Barnes restaurant in 1986, originally naming it Sonny's; it was renamed when chef Phil Howard became a partner in the business in 2014.

The pair also launched  Kitchen K8 in Kensington and Elystan Street in Chelsea together, both of which have a Michelin star; the former opened in 2010 and the latter

in 2016.

Additionally, Rebecca owns Home SW15 - originally named Bibo when it opened in 2014 - in Putney.

Sonny's Kitchen is described on its Twitter page as a "modern European kitchen and deli" and as "a longstanding and much-loved neighbourhood spot with a bright, relaxed feel" with "all encompassing menus" offering generous portions  in The Michelin Guide.

The restaurant's website says its menus change regularly "to take advantage of  the best seasonal produce including locally grown fruit and vegetables from the gardens at Fulham Palace." It will officially close its doors on July 21st.
