The Strand Dining Rooms to open in July

The Staff Canteen
The Strand Dining Rooms in London’s Trafalgar Square is set to open on 7th July, with reservations now being taken. Opening as part of the redevelopment of 1-3 Grand Buildings, the all-day dining restaurant will offer a modern European menu, against a quintessentially British backdrop. The 200 cover restaurant, launched by Mark Harris, promises to become a classic all-day dining destination in the heart of the capital. Founder of Harris Restaurant Consultants, Harris has previously held positions at renowned restaurants, including The Capital Hotel, Simon Parker Bowles’ Green’s Restaurant & Oyster Bar, and Searcy’s at The Gherkin. He is now offering his own vision for the London restaurant scene with The Strand Dining Rooms. The menu, created by head chef Michael Beugnet (previously at Wotton House Hotel in Surrey and Green’s in St James) will include dishes such as: mustard, herb and pepper cured salmon with smoked seasonal salad; seafood Scotch egg with dark crab sauce; and brawn terrine with pigs head croquette and homemade piccalilli. Main dishes will include: rack and slow cooked shoulder of lamb with artichoke, broad bean and cherry tomato salad; line caught cod with chive mash, poached eggs and “Innis & Gunn” ale sauce; and The Strand seafood crumble with summer greens. For dessert, the selection includes: rhubarb egg custard with shortbread and berry Eton mess with summer berry sauce. Mark Harris comments: “London is buzzing at the moment and I'm very excited by what will be offered at The Strand Dining Rooms. Delivering all day eating with real food, exceptional service and at all times offering value for money is very much at the core of everything I believe in. “I have a great team around me, from Russell Sage Studios on the design side to 3Interiors - the contractors who will realise the design.  We have built a remarkable operational team in preparation for the summer opening.  I am hoping The Strand Dining Rooms will be a wonderful addition to The Trafalgar Square area.”
