The Beefy Boys named among world’s best BBQ restaurants

The Beefy Boys are celebrating a major moment on the global stage after being named the 15th Best BBQ Joint in the World (Outside the USA) by The Underseasoned BBQ Show, an international podcast and ranking platform dedicated to global barbecue culture.

The newly released Top 50 BBQ Spots Outside the USA list highlights the strongest smokehouses across the globe. For The Beefy Boys, the recognition comes just six months after launching their Hereford BBQ Nights, a collaboration with pit master Ashley Tunley of Big Smoke BBQ.

According to The Underseasoned team, the Hereford restaurant earned its place for delivering “authentic Texas-style barbecue” while weaving in British creativity and maintaining the high standards that have already brought the group international acclaim for its burgers.

Beefy Boys, BBQ, USA,

A six-month project that’s already world-class

The Beefy Boys’ BBQ Nights have quickly become one of Hereford’s most sought-after dining experiences. The set-menu format offers a line-up of low and slow classics - smoked beef brisket, pork belly, hot honey burnt ends, maple-brined turkey, Hereford hotlink sausages and beef cheeks - alongside mac and cheese, brisket pit beans and mustard maple slaw. The experience is priced at £45 per person.

Co-founder Anthony ‘Murf’ Murphy said the team was still processing the news.

Anthony said: “We’ve only been running our Hereford BBQ Nights for six months, so

to be recognised on a global list like this is mind-blowing. We set out to bring authentic, wood-smoked, low and slow American barbecue to Hereford after travelling across the States. To be named one of the best BBQ restaurants in the world means everything to us.”

International recognition continues to grow

This award is the latest milestone in what has been a rapid rise for the Hereford group. The Beefy Boys previously took fourth place at the World Food Championships in 2024 and were crowned Best Burger in the UK in 2023.

The Underseasoned BBQ Show’s annual ranking is considered one of the most respected guides in the barbecue community, consistently spotlighting venues that represent authenticity, technique and quality. The Beefy Boys’ debut appearance in the Top 50 reinforces their growing reputation as one of the most exciting newcomers to the UK barbecue scene.

From invite-only to one of Hereford’s hardest-to-book nights

The Hereford BBQ Nights originally began as invite-only events, selling out every time. Due to demand, the team opened the experience to the public at their Hereford restaurant, with limited seats and freshly smoked meat prepared for each service.

Sessions run every Friday and Saturday evening, and bookings are now open.

The Beefy Boys said demand had already increased sharply following the announcement, as diners rush to secure one of the region’s most distinctive dining experiences.
