The Good Food Guide has launched its annual search for the 100 best local restaurants across the UK.
Established in 1951, the Good Food Guide reviews and ranks the best restaurants, pubs and cafes across the UK.
The campaign, now in its 15th year and in partnership with Square, awards humble, local, independent restaurants that are enjoyed by communities across the country.
The guide’s inspectors will be stationed in restaurants across the country, judging anonymously to ensure accuracy for the awards, leaving no stone unturned.
The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Local Restaurants drew in 60,000 nominations in 2024.
Last year, Bavette, a French bistro in Leeds owned by husband and husband team, Sandy Jarvis and Clement Cousin took the overall win at the awards.
Eight other regional winners were awarded such as North Street Kitchen in Cornwall which served impressive seafood from an old boathouse.
The Good Food Guide editor, Chloe Hamilton said: “This is the bread and
butter of The Good Food Guide. We’re not looking for anything fancy, and definitely no tasting menus. We want to hear about the places that create that magic that keeps you coming back.
“We’ll be on the ground anonymously visiting the local restaurants you love, so cast your vote! This is where your voice really matters.”
