The Staff Canteen
The Staff Canteen is pleased to announce that we will soon be bringing you regular content from famous food writer Kerstin Kühn. Kerstin specialises in restaurant and chef stories and is a former restaurant editor of the UK hospitality publication Caterer and Hotelkeeper. She has recently relocated from London to Los Angeles and will use her new exciting location as a basis for a series of monthly blogs which will be featured exclusively on The Staff Canteen website. Speaking about the partnership, Kerstin said: "I'm thrilled to be working with the Staff Canteen and to have the opportunity to write about the Los Angeles restaurant industry. "Although LA may not enjoy the same culinary reputation as other major US cities such as New York or San Francisco, it has a thriving underground restaurant scene of independent operators and young chefs, a flourishing ethnic restaurant community, and a really exciting range of innovative casual dining concepts all of which can compete with any other metropolis in the world. "It's been a fantastic adventure for me to discover LA's foodie gems and I look forward to sharing some of my findings with the Staff Canteen's audience of UK chefs." With a vast network of chefs around the world, Kerstin has profiled some huge names in the industry including the likes of Michel Roux, Heston Blumenthal, Thomas Keller, Daniel Boulud, the Roca brothers and Massimo Bottura. Kerstin has been a contributor to publications such as FOUR magazine, the Evening Standard Food and Travel Magazine, M&C Report, Design Week, Frame Magazine and City and Canary Wharf Magazines. The focus of the blogs will be primarily based on what is happening in California but also touching on other matters across the USA. The first instalment from Kerstin will be available later this month. Kerstin also writes her own blog, La Goulue, and you can also follow her on Twitter.
