Tom Shepherd has announced plans to open a second restaurant in Lichfield
Tom Shepherd has announced plans to open a second restaurant in Lichfield.
Speaking exclusively to The Staff Canteen, during an episode of the Grilled podcast, Tom Shepherd, who already owns Michelin-starred Restaurant Upstairs, confirmed that he had ‘just begun the process of acquiring a second property’.
During the podcast, Tom revealed that the second venue will be very different from his flagship but hopes to tie the two restaurants in as part of an overall guest experience.
“We are going to try and combine the experiences. Instead of going to Upstairs first, you may be able to go to this second venue before
or after your meal, and enjoy what we have to offer there,” explained Tom.
Set to also be located in Lichfield, Tom said that the second venue will be a small plates concept with a large emphasis on drinks.
“My plan is to place an incredible chef in there who will take the food to its own level but we’re going to open up with the mindset of small plates, drinks orientated, and the small plates will develop so you can almost have your own tasting menu.”
As it stands there is no set date for Tom’s new restaurant, however he does expect to see his second restaurant open for Summer 2024.
