Announcing the launch of hicce X Wolf & Badger in Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross - Pip Lacey and Gordy McIntyre’s first solo venture.

Acclaimed Chef Pip Lacey will open hicce X Wolf & Badger in October 2018 at the much anticipated Wolf & Badger store at King's Cross development, Coal Drops Yard. An 80-cover restaurant with alfresco seating for approximately 35, hicce (ee-che) will offer all day dining from midday onwards.

This will be Pip’s first standalone restaurant, since leaving Michelin starred restaurant Murano and following her win on Great British Menu 2017.

hicce is a partnership for Pip and long-time friend and business partner Gordy McIntyre. The pair have been backed by Pip’s mentor and friend, chef Angela Hartnett.

The menu will include dishes created from a wood fired fuel source - from grilling to steaming and smoking. From homemade rye bread with seasonal cheese, cured meats and pickles; to fish, meat and yakitori cooked over specialist holm oak charcoal. Pip will use traditional techniques to create dishes inspired by her travels and driven by her commitment to the very best produce.

Gordy will head up front of house ensuring hicce is a harmonious and encouraging workplace for staff. The space will house a dedicated bar area serving locally crafted beers and cocktails and Gordy has created a concise wine list sourced from small batch, independent producers and featuring Biodynamic and organic wines.

Pip says: “To be part of a development like Coal Drops Yard is an incredible opportunity and to have a partnership with Wolf & Badger makes this move all the more special. Gordy and I have been working to open our own restaurant for many years, so this is an absolute dream realised for me and I cannot wait to get into the kitchen”

Pip’s training came from three years spent working for Gordon Ramsay Holdings before working her way up to the position of Head Chef at Angela Hartnett’s Michelin starred Murano.

Luxury retailer Wolf & Badger sells some of the best independent brands from designers and artisans who have been carefully selected from all over the world.

Coal Drops Yard is a new Heatherwick Studio-designed shopping and lifestyle district and there hicce will join the likes of Tom Dixon, Morty & Bob’s, Paul Smith, Le Chocolat, Barrafina and 50 other stores, restaurants and cafes in a reimagined set of historic buildings and arches adjacent to Granary Square and Regent’s Canal.

Wolf & Badger Creative Director & Co-Founder, Henry Graham says: “Pip and Gordy's passion for hicce and its contemporary concept made them the obvious choice as restaurant partner for the new Wolf & Badger flagship. We are creating a unique, experiential destination at Coal Drops Yard and hicce's menu, service and atmosphere will be an exciting addition to the space.”
