The UK Pastry Team is announced as a Top 5 competitor for the 2019 Coupe du Monde de La Pâtisserie!

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the world famous Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, five countries have been selected to go straight through to the final, which will take place in Lyon, January 27 and 28th in 2019.

These countries have been selected based on their results from the last three Coupe du Monde competitions.

The TOP 5 are in alphabetical order:

• Italy
• Japan
• South Korea
• United Kingdom
• United States

This is a fantastic opportunity for the UK, as it means that the team (which will be made up of three candidates) will not have to qualify at the European Pastry Cup in Italy next year, but simply start training for Lyon (with support from Valrhona UK, a founding sponsor of the Coupe du Monde) and the final in 2019.

The UK Pastry Team now has to select their candidates in order to ensure the best possible outcome for 2019. Selection will take place at the UK Pastry Open. This will be on Monday 2nd October 2017 at the Restaurant Show, Olympia, London.
