Campbell’s Eurospar in Banbridge has boosted production, consistency and efficiency following its investment in RATIONAL’s iCombi Pro and iVario cooking systems.
The family-run retailer, which produces more than 200 fresh heat-and-eat meals on-site, expanded its production kitchen to meet growing customer demand. Today, the operation produces almost 10,000 products while also supplying its popular hot food counter and sandwich bar.
Head Chef Paul Frazer says the iCombi Pro has simplified production and improved consistency. “The iCombi Pro, what I really like about it is the technology. It’s made life easier for my staff,” he says. “Consistency is key. This makes it foolproof. Put it in, push the button. Perfect.”
The iVario Pro has also delivered major efficiency gains, reducing cooking times for dishes such as soups, sauces and stews. Frazer says producing 25 litres of stew now takes just 45 minutes, compared with four hours previously.
The investment is already delivering strong business results. Owner Brian Campbell reports higher production and increased sales, while staffing costs have remained stable. “Our production has gone up, our sales have gone up, and our wage bill has basically stayed the same,” he says.
Over the past six years, Campbell’s Eurospar has tripled its sales and become a destination shop for freshly prepared meals.
