THE ORANGE TREE NEWCASTLE-UNDER-LYME IS NOW OPEN FOLLOWING EXTENSIVE REFURBISHMENT The restaurant is now open with a brand new look, new grill menu, and a standout cocktail selection The Orange Tree, one of Newcastle-Under-Lyme’s most-loved dining and drinking destinations, has officially reopened its doors following a £300,000 refurbishment. After temporarily closing on Sunday 27th April, the venue welcomed guests back with a VIP launch event on Friday 23rd May, which featured an exclusive DJ set from Love Island's Marcel Somerville. The transformation sees The Orange Tree reimagined with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic while maintaining the warm and inviting atmosphere locals have long loved. The updated interiors pair perfectly with the new grill-focused menu and an elevated drinks offering, designed to make every visit feel special. At the heart of the new menu is a commitment to premium meat and bold flavours. Guests can now enjoy an array of 30-day dry-aged Grass Fed Select Breed and Black Angus cuts, including impressive large-format steaks like the Boston Rib and Tomahawk, sourced locally and prepared to order. Perfect for sharing, the Grill Plate Sharer features a British Boneless Chicken Escalope, Treacle-Glazed Pork Strip, Cornish Lamb T-Bone and Sweet Maple Cured Bacon Ribeye. Vegetarians are well catered for too, with standout dishes like the Hot Honey Halloumi & Pineapple Skewer and Smoked Aubergine Parmo bringing bold, smoky flavours to the table. The reopening also introduces an expanded cocktail offering, showcasing both timeless classics and bold new creations. Highlights include Roll with the Punches, where guests can roll the dice to unveil what rum they will be having and then roll again to reveal the flavour that will complement your drink. The anticipation is part of the fun, and every sip is a surprise with 36 possible combinations. Peaches & Prosecco, which is a light, refreshing drink, perfect for warmer nights and Agave & Passionfruit, a vibrant, fruity take on the tequila classic. Friday nights at The Orange Tree are back with a bang. Guests can enjoy a complimentary glass of house wine with any grill dish from 5pm, with live DJs and singers performing from 7:30pm to 11:30pm to set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The Orange Tree originally opened in 2013 and quickly became a local hotspot. Its sister venue in Congleton, opened in 2023, is similarly known for its stylish interiors and standout food and drink offering. Rich Colclough, Managing Director of Parogon Group, said, “We’re thrilled to welcome guests back to The Orange Tree Newcastle. This refurbishment is about more than just new interiors, it’s about delivering an elevated, exciting experience across food, drinks and atmosphere. We’re proud of what’s been achieved here and can’t wait to see both new and familiar faces enjoying the space.” For bookings, menus, and the latest updates, follow The Orange Tree on Instagram and Facebook.
