The Staff Canteen

The Staff Canteen is delighted to welcome on board a new member of the team, Editor Cara Houchen.

Cara will be responsible for the ever expanding editorial team. She has a background in media production and journalism. She lived and worked as an intern in London gaining experience at The People and Princess Productions. She then relocated to the North East and qualified as a journalist. She has worked as a senior features writer at the Sunderland Echo for the last six years and became Deputy Editor of its sister magazine, Etc, in 2012.

“I’ve been fortunate to move to Dorset which is a beautiful county and I was looking for a new and challenging role,” explained Cara. “Being a lover of food and fine dining, The Staff Canteen combines my favourite things and allows me to delve into the world of top chefs and restaurants. Delivering fabulous food, chefs with talent and trending cuisine to fellow gastronomy lovers is an opportunity I will definitely enjoy getting my teeth into!”

Managing director of The Staff Canteen, Mark Morris said: “We are delighted to welcome Cara on board, and see the opportunity to both improve and expand our chef focused content as key to our success and growth. We are excited about this chapter in our development.”
