Owners of The Kitchin, The Scran & Scallie and The Bonnie Badger, Tom and Michaela Kitchin, are set to open a new restaurant in Edinburgh, 'KORA by Tom Kitchin'

The 65-seat restaurant and bar, located in Edinburgh’s Bruntsfield area will occupy the space once home to Southside Scran, the restaurant which operated there between 2018 and 2020, when it was forced to close due to flooding damage and pandemic-related pressures.

Named after the Greek goddess of spring, flowers and vegetation, the restaurant will showcase the chef's passion for using local, seasonal produce.

The concept, according to the chef, will offer "a genuine

neighbourhood restaurant with a real sense of community," giving guests a "new dining destination" where they can enjoy "a bottle of wine at the bar," "a family lunch with the kids," or "a relaxed evening meal." In other words, he added, "there will be something for everyone."

“This new chapter is a really exciting one for our entire team and also for the city. We can’t wait to get back into the kitchen and start cooking some really fresh and exciting new dishes for our guests.”

The restaurant will be staffed by some of the restaurant's existing team, as well as creating several new jobs for the city.
