Claude Bosi to close Hibiscus

Chef Claude Bosi has announced the closure of his two Michelin starred Mayfair restaurant, Hibiscus.

The restaurant will close on Saturday, October 1, 2016 after nine years.

In a statement Claude said: “It has been an honour to have welcomed you to my restaurant, either in London or Ludlow over the past sixteen years. Your support has allowed me to continue to do what I simply love - to cook. However, the time has come for me to take on a new challenge, and so on the 1st October this year I will be closing the doors after the dinner service for one last time.”

He continued: “I will be opening a new restaurant next year, and very much hope you will be able to join me in this very exciting

chapter of my career…more details to follow!”

Hibiscus first opened its doors in 2000 but has only been situated in Mayfair since 2007. In 2009, Claude's Mayfair restaurant was listed as only second to The Fat Duck in the UK National Restaurant of the Year awards. Claude gained his first Michelin star within a year of the Hibiscus opening and then a second in 2004.

In April it was announced that Claude had teamed up with his brother, Cedric to launch the 55 cover pub, The Swan Inn in Surrey which opened the following month.

At the beginning of the year Claude also revealed he would cut working hours to tackle the chef shortage.
