The Veuve Clicquot World’s best female chef of 2014 Awarded to Helena Rizzo

Helena Rizzo of Mani Restaurant, in São Paulo, Brazil has been named the 2014 Veuve Clicquot World’s Best Female Chef and will be honoured at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards in London on the 28th April. Read more from The Staff Canteen  

Michelin-starred chef to create menu for Vivaldi

Italian master chef Alfredo Russo is bringing his cuisine to Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers, creating the menu for signature restaurant Vivaldi, now re-named Vivaldi by Alfredo Russo. Vivaldi, which opened in 2000 is under refurbishment and will return on April 9 with its new menu, in tandem with the hotel's re-opening. Read more from Hotelier Middle East  

Google food comparison tool allows users to pick healthiest option

A new Google tool has been installed on the search engine site which allows users to compare different foods - right
down to their nutritional information. The tool is designed so that if a user type in two types of food, with the word 'vs' in between, or the two foods with the word 'compare' preceding it, they will see a chart revealing the foods make up, comparing them side by side. The tool even measures the different foods based on how they are prepared and what is in them, as well as portion size. Read more from Mail Online  

Guide dog with eye problems finds work as world's first canine hotel concierge

Hotel guests not keen on leaving large concierge tips might want to consider staying at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel - where one member of staff will only ask for a dog biscuit for their service. Catie Copley, a black labrador who trained as a guide dog before transferring to the hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, is thought to be the world's first canine concierge. Read more from Mail Online
