The Six Bells | ETM Group

The Six Bells, near Lavenham in Suffolk is set to open next month making it the 14th establishment from Tom and Ed Martin of privately-owned ETM and their first outside of London. The award-winning gastro pub and restaurant operator will undertake an extensive refurbishment and full refit of an historic, Grade II-listed building in the village of Preston St Mary, Sudbury, located 3 miles north of Lavenham and 20 minutes from Bury St Edmunds.

The 2,000 sq foot venue, a former brewery dating back to 1416, will be an English country pub with 20-cover bar and 40-cover dining room that can be split to function as a private events space. Key design features include a polished timber horseshoe-shaped bar, exposed original beams, oak-panelled dining room, parquet timber floor throughout and restored original fireplaces. Open from midday, seven days a week, The Six Bells will focus on country pub fare with ETM’s signature touches alongside an extensive wine list, and a beer selection voted for by Preston St Mary locals including monthly guest ales. Average spend per head for a three-course meal with wine is £25. Tom Martin, co-founder of ETM Group, comments: “We are incredibly excited to announce our first opening outside of London.
