He said: “It’s a great opportunity to get involved and put something back into the industry. I am very fortunate to be in the business I’m in, working for a great company. It’s through the hard work from those around me and it’s a good chance to show what we have got in kitchens across the UK.”

Before taking his current post as executive chef for The Bybrook restaurant at The Manor House in Wiltshire, Richard worked at a number of restaurants and by the age of 30 had experience in three-Michelin starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea and two-starred The Vineyard at Stockcross.

As well as this, Richard achieved his first Michelin star within five months of a stint at the Sawyards Restaurant in Storrington.Richard has also appeared on our TV screens on popular BBC show Great British Menu in three separate series.

After a successful debut year, The Staff Canteen Live will return on 11 & 12 March 2014 as part of the Hotel and Catering Show when six professional chefs will give live demonstrations and visitors will be invited to ask questions and take part in taste testers. The event will be held at the Bournemouth International conference centre. Check back to our website tomorrow morning when the third chef will be announced.
