restaurant Crockers Henley has ceased trading.

The restaurant which was also awarded four AA rosettes announced via social media that it would be shutting down with immediate effect.

A statement posted on Instagram on Sunday read: “It’s a sad day for us all at Crockers Henley today as we bid farewell to this town and all our wonderful guests. Today is our last day of business before we close the doors one last time.”

Citing numerous challenges brought on by economic downturn and a cost of a living crisis, the post added: “We have tried everything to avoid this and the team have been amazing at working hard and doing all they were asked. Unfortunately the financial burden we have taken on over the last two years and bleak economic outlook means we simply cannot continue like this.”

The restaurant thanked guests for their support over the years as well as the restaurant’s team of staff. Crockers Henley opened its doors in April 2020 and offered two 16-seat Chef’s Tables (The Thames Table and The Gardiner Table), a Bar & Grill and elegant overnight accommodation.

It was the second restaurant launched by Crockers CEO Luke Garnsworthy after he opened Crockers Tring in spring 2018.

It’s been confirmed that Crockers Tring will continue operations following the closure of Crockers Henley.
