Jason Atherton’s Little Social to close after more than a decade in Mayfair
Jason Atherton’s Little Social will close after more than 13 years in Mayfair, with the restaurant preparing for its final service on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
The news was shared directly with guests, describing the final run as “one last service” for Jason’s first Mayfair bistro.
The closure marks the end of a long-running chapter for one of the best-known sites in his London portfolio, although the message also makes clear the space is set to be refurbished, with a new concept or direction being considered for the months ahead.
Little Social, opened in March 2013, has held a distinctive place within Jason’s group for more than a decade, earning recognition from Michelin, the AA and Good Food guides.
Head chef Sam Prichard to mark final weeks alongside Jason
As the restaurant heads towards its closing date, Jason and head chef Sam Prichard will use the final weeks of service to celebrate the site’s legacy with a menu built around Little Social’s best-known dishes.
Guests will be offered a three-course menu of signature favourites for £35, alongside a wine list featuring some of the restaurant’s classic bottles.
Sam joined Little Social as head chef in 2022, training closely with Alex Parker, head chef from Mary’s at Social Eating House.

The message sent to guests
In the message sent to guests, Jason said: “After 14 wonderful years, the time has come for us to close the doors of Jason Atherton’s first Mayfair bistro, Little Social, as we prepare for our final service on 11th April.
“Since opening, Little Social has been proud to receive recognition from the Michelin Guide, the AA Restaurant Guide, and the Good Food Guide, while welcoming countless loyal guests through its doors.
“Over the years it has become known for its relaxed yet refined dining, classic bistro cooking, and warm hospitality in the heart of Mayfair.
“Little Social has always been about more than just a restaurant. It has been a place where guests gathered for memorable lunches and dinners, evenings shared over great food and wine.
“None of this would have been possible without the extraordinary team who have worked here over the years, and the guests who have supported us since the beginning.
“As with many good things in life, chapters sometimes come to an end. This has been a difficult decision, but we have chosen to close Little Social for now as we look ahead to refurbishing the space and exploring what the next chapter might bring in the months ahead.
“Before we say goodbye, chef Jason Atherton and chef Sam will celebrate the restaurant’s legacy with a menu of Little Social’s most loved classic dishes.
“We would love for you to join us one last time to celebrate the memories, the dishes, and the spirit of Little Social.”
A long-standing part of Jason’s restaurant story
The closure is a notable moment within Jason’s wider business because Little Social has represented one of the more approachable, bistro-led expressions of his style in London.
Jason’s portfolio also includes Berners Tavern, City Social, Mary’s, Three Darlings, Sael and Row on 5, the latter recently earning two Michelin stars.
Jason’s early career saw him work in major kitchens under Pierre Koffmann, Marco Pierre White, Nico Ladenis and Ferran Adrià, before his move to Gordon Ramsay Holdings in 2001.
He left in 2010 to launch his own company, with Pollen Street Social opening in Mayfair in April 2011 and winning a Michelin star within six months and five AA rosettes.
The Social Company is a globally recognised restaurant group with sites in London and international locations including Dubai, Mykonos, St Moritz and Shanghai.
