Joan Roca headlines Estrella Damm Chef Congress in London

The line-up of chefs attending the Estrella Damm Gastronomy Congress is confirmed. Hosted in London on Monday, the event will boast the attendance of several chefs placed on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list including Joan Roca of the number one restaurant, El Celler de Can Roca. Brett Graham low resAlso attending the event will be Brett Graham of ‘The Ledbury’ (number 20 on this year’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants list), the world’s best pastry chef, Albert Adrià of ‘Tickets’ (number 42 on the list) and a fourth chef of equal calibre due to be announced shortly. Simon Stenning, of M&C Allegra Foodservice, said: “The world of gastronomy is changing rapidly as chefs embrace new technology, approaches and formats, and as more consumers become food pleasure seekers. “M&C Allegra tracks and reports on the industry and consumers’ behaviours, and it is a pleasure to present these trends and emerging themes at the Estrella Damm Gastronomy Congress.” Running for its second year, the Estrella Damm Gastronomy Congress is the only place where the broader industry can interact with such a prolific line-up of chefs. The one day event, held at The Hurlingham Club in association with Restaurant Magazine, will focus on ‘The Changing Face of Modern Gastronomy’.Albert Adria low res Simon will address the Congress with a look at emerging trends of ‘premiumised informality’ and how pubs are re-inventing their mojo. After the event the National Restaurant Awards, in association with Estrella Damm, will feature live cooking demonstrations from the guest chefs and a Q&A session.
