Croatia’s Michelin Guide for 2019 has been published. This year, the judges gave two restaurants their first Michelin stars and added three to the Bib Gourmand list.

The two newcomers are Zagreb’s Noel, run by chef Goran Kočis, and Deni Srdoč’s Draga di Lovrana, a family-run hotel in the Istria region serving terroir-based foods, with a focus on fish and shrimp.

Croatia's other one-star restaurants are Monte in Rovinj, 360 in Dubrovnik and Pelegrini in Šibenik.

2019 is the third time Michelin inspectors have made a list for Croatia; it now counts five one-star restaurants, eight Bib Gourmands – the award given to restaurants serving good food for less than 35 euros -   and 50 Michelin Plates, the less prestigious recognition introduced last year.
