Michelin star chef Sam Moody confirmed for The Staff Canteen Live 2014

Michelin star chef Sam Moody is the fourth chef to be confirmed in the star line-up that will take part in next year’s The Staff Canteen Live event.

The Surrey-born chef is no stranger to working in highly acclaimed kitchens, working his way up to executive head chef at the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Bath and he is eager to show what he can do in front of the cameras.

He said: “I love The Staff Canteen and it is great to be asked to be involved in this event. The live format is interesting and I love doing demos and it is exciting to do so in front of a live audience.”

Following a stint in West Sussex working for Steve Crane at Michelin-starred Ockenden Manor, Sam left to continue his development under Michael Caines MBE for the Andrew Brownsword Hotels ‘Gidleigh Collection’. In 2005 Sam joined two Michelin-starred Gidleigh Park Hotel in Devon as commis chef, eventually progressing to become chef tournand.

Sam has worked at The Bath Priory since March 2009, starting as sous chef but quickly assuming the role of head chef six months later. Since then the Priory has gone from strength to strength and, in September 2012, it was awarded a Michelin star which saw Sam promoted to his current role as executive head chef.

Alongside his achievements in the kitchen, Sam is actively involved in the City of Bath College and helps to fundraise through chefs’ forums The South West Chefs’ and The Cotswold Chefs’.After a successful debut year, The Staff Canteen Live will return on 11 & 12 March 2014 as part of the Hotel and Catering Show when six professional chefs will give live demonstrations and visitors will be invited to ask questions and take part in taste testers.

The event will be held at the Bournemouth International conference centre. Check back to our website on Thursday morning when the fifth chef will be announced.
