Every restaurant added to The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland in 2026
spencer metzger'S Mayfair bistro Chez Rose and nathan outlaw's new Port Isaac bistro lead 22 restaurants added to The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland in September.
London supplied seven of the month's additions, with dining pubs continuing a strong year across England and no new entries in Wales or the Republic of Ireland.
The Michelin Guide updates its online selection throughout the year, with inspectors adding newly recommended restaurants ahead of the annual awards ceremony.
These monthly additions are not the same as Michelin stars, Bib Gourmands or special awards. Those are announced separately at the annual Michelin Guide ceremony.

September 2026 Michelin Guide additions
chez Rose, London
French · chef Spencer Metzger · opened June 2026
Spencer Metzger opened Chez Rose on Pollen Street in Mayfair in June, on the site that was Little Social, with his business partner Jason Atherton backing the project.
Spencer has said the cooking takes its lead from the great French classics without setting out to be a traditional French bistro, with dishes such as orkney scallop with café de paris butter, grilled lobster with sauce chorron, aligot au morbier and crêpes suzette.
Spencer spent 12 years at The Ritz under executive chef John Williams MBE and remains executive chef at Row on 5, which holds two Michelin stars.
Speaking to The Staff Canteen ahead of opening, Spencer said: "We’re not in a position where we want to invest loads of money. It’s not about that. It’s about creating something that’s humble and genuine.
“It would be amazing if I could create a restaurant on a budget, without spending billions of pounds which you’re never going to get back.
“It’s got the bones of a great restaurant already, so let’s be clever about it.
“It’s not built for winning loads of accolades. It will hopefully achieve them by default and in its own way."
Outlaw's Bistro, Port Isaac

Outlaw's Bistro is the successor to Outlaw's New Road, which Nathan Outlaw closed in March 2026 after deciding to step away from the fine dining format.
The ten table bistro opened in April 2026 inside Outlaw's Guest House, the nine bedroom property across the road that Nathan took on three years ago, with a shorter, lower priced menu. Michelin-starred Outlaw's Fish Kitchen continues to operate in the village.
Simpson's in the Strand, London
Traditional British · restaurateur Jeremy King · reopened March 2026
Jeremy King reopened Simpson's in the Strand in March, bringing one of London's oldest dining rooms back into service. The restaurant dates to 1828.
The menu holds to the classics the room is known for, with prawn cocktail, boiled ham and parsley sauce and spotted dick all on it, a daily pie or pudding, and beef carved tableside every day rather than only on Sundays.
Elsewhere, Scotland picked up Cradle, the seven table fine dining room that opened at Cromlix in June, where executive head chef James Mearing runs a tasting menu built on Scottish produce and the kitchen garden at the Michelin Key hotel owned by Sir Andy Murray.
Southampton's AO by Daniel Rogan and Edinburgh's Whirlybird also joined, along with Sushi Amamoto, the Mayfair omakase counter that took over the site of the Michelin starred Taku in partnership with the three Michelin starred Sushi Amamoto in Fukuoka. Dining pubs continued their strong run in the Guide, with Hop Pole Inn, Nevill Arms, The Black Horse, The Rose and Crown and The White Horse Easton all added.

August 2026 Michelin Guide additions
In August, 22 restaurants were added to The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland, including Lofft (Tom Simmons), Bauji (Dayashankar Sharma) and The Corn Room (Jay Bartlett).
Lofft was one of the standout additions. The 12-seat counter restaurant sits directly above Tom's Pontcanna brasserie, Thomas the Brasserie, in Cardiff, with a menu built around Welsh produce including Carmarthenshire lamb and a suet pudding filled with braised lamb shoulder.
Jersey supplied four of the month's additions across Saint Helier and Saint Brelade.

July 2026 Michelin Guide additions
In July, 12 restaurants were added to The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland, including Inlamentation (Michael O'Hare), elda at Stoke Mill (Chris Bartlett) and The Two Pigs (Liam Dillon).
Inlamentation was the one of the standout additions. The Boston Spa restaurant opened earlier this year from Michael O'Hare, who previously held a Michelin star at The Man Behind The Curtain in Leeds.

In June, 12 restaurants were added to The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland, including Daise by Tony Parkin, Burro in London and Ogof in Cardiff.
Daise by Tony Parkin was one of the standout additions. The Wirral restaurant opened earlier this year from Tony Parkin, who previously held a Michelin star at The Tudor Room at Great Fosters.
The month also saw Burro, the first solo restaurant from Trullo chef co-owner Conor Gadd, added to the Guide.

April 2026 Michelin Guide additions
April brought one of the larger monthly updates of the year, with 18 restaurants added to The Michelin Guide.
The new additions included Tommy Banks pub with rooms General Tarleton in Knaresborough, Le Nautique in Guernsey, Grantley Arms in Ripon, 10 Tib Lane in Manchester and a number of London restaurants.

February 2026 Michelin Guide ceremony
February was different from the monthly additions updates.
Rather than a normal monthly list of newly recommended restaurants, February was when The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2026 was officially revealed at the annual ceremony in Dublin.
That ceremony confirmed the new Michelin stars, Bib Gourmands, green stars and special awards for the 2026 Guide.
Among the headline stories, Bonheur by Matt Abé and Row on 5, from Jason Atherton and Spencer Metzger, were both awarded two Michelin stars, while 20 restaurants received one star.

January 2026 Michelin Guide additions
January was the final monthly additions update before The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2026 ceremony.
The list included a number of high-profile restaurants, among them 74 Charlotte Street by Ben Murphy in London, Pignut and The Hare in Helmsley, Corenucopia by Clare Smyth, Bonheur by Matt Abé and The Kerfield Arms.

What does being added to The Michelin Guide mean?
Being added to The Michelin Guide means a restaurant has been selected by Michelin’s inspectors and included in the Guide’s online restaurant selection.
It does not mean the restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star.
Michelin stars, Bib Gourmands, Green Stars and special awards are announced separately at the annual Michelin Guide ceremony.
However, a Guide listing remains a significant recognition for restaurants, chefs and front-of-house teams, particularly for new openings and restaurants building national visibility.
