Nordic Michelin Guide 2019: Noma keeps its title but no new three stars

The Nordic Michelin Guide has issued its 2019 list after holding its annual ceremony in Aarhus, Denmark, giving four restaurants their first stars and a second star to three others, but not handing out a third star to any restaurant in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway or Iceland.

Unsurprisingly, René Redzepi's recently relaunched Noma in Copenhagen had its two stars restored. The restaurant first received them 2007, since which it has also topped the World's 50 Best Restaurants list on four occasions.

Stockholm's Gastrologik and KOKS, located in the Faroe Islands, were the other two happy new joiners to the Nordics' two Michelin starred list.

Copenhagen's Alouette and Helsinki's Palace

were awarded their first stars, and both Fagn and Credo placed Trondheim, Norway on the map for the first time by receiving a single star. Credo was also awarded the guide's sustainability award for 2019.

Meanwhile, Iceland lost its only National accolade, awarded to Dill in 2017.

The Nordic Guide now features 64 locations, including three three-starred - held by Frantzén in Sweden, Maaemo in Norway and Geranium in Denmark -  ten two-starred, and 51 one-starred restaurants.
