Sally Abé announces departure from The Bull

The Staff Canteen

Sally Abé has announced she is leaving The Bull after less than a year.

Sally led the kitchen team and collaborated with nearby Bruern Farms to enhance the pub’s farm-to-fork ethos.

This move follows her departure from The Pem at the Conrad London St James, after four successful years.

She has also competed in BBC's Great British Menu multiple times. Originally from Mansfield, Nottingham, Sally has represented the Central region in the competition.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT

A post on social media read: "So some new year news, today is my last day at The Bull.

"Moving to the Cotswolds was never on my bingo card but I must admit it's been a brilliant year and I've made so many new friends, learned so much about produce and had the pleasure of working with some wonderful people.

"Something new and very exciting is coming, and it’s close. I can’t wait to share it with you!"

Sally first appeared on GBM in 2020, and then again in 2022, where she had the honour of cooking the mini courses at the banquet held at Alexandra Palace. In 2025, she returned to the show for her third time, where she won the starter course, cooking it at the banquet at Blenheim Palace.

At the time of joining the Bull, Sally said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining The Bull in Charlbury. It feels like a homecoming for me - returning to my roots and getting to cook proper British pub grub once again.

"I can’t wait to work with all the amazing produce from the farm. I’m so excited to get back to these incredible British ingredients and just get cracking.”

Sally's next venture is yet to be announced.

Small Contribution. Big Impact.

The Staff Canteen has always been more than a website—it’s a community, built by and for hospitality. We share the wins, the challenges, the graft, and the inspiration that keeps kitchens alive.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
