Signature Group launches Senior Chef Academy
One of Scotland’s leading hospitality firms has launched a UK-wide search for the next generation of culinary talent.
The Edinburgh-based Signature Group is offering aspiring senior chefs the opportunity to take the next big step in their career, as part of its new ‘Senior Chef Academy’.
Under the mentorship of Ian Boyd Thorpe, executive chef at Signature Group’s prestigious Rutland Hotel in Edinburgh, the successful applicant will join the first intensive three-month development programme in November and start honing their cooking skills before Christmas.
What the programme covers
The ‘Senior Chef Academy’ is designed to immerse aspiring senior chefs in the standards, systems, and culture of Signature Group. Over three months, participants will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and leadership development, culminating in a tailored role placement aligned with their strengths and future potential.
Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to gain even more experience across Signature’s Scotland-wide portfolio of over 20 venues, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, St Andrews and Bridge of Allan, near Stirling.
The ‘Senior Chef Academy’ is expected to continue to run every three months throughout 2026, with at least one full-time senior chef position being offered at the end of each programme.
