Siren at The Goring won't reopen its doors when lockdown is lifted, says chef Nathan Outlaw
Siren, Nathan Outlaw's latest grand opening at The Goring hotel will remain closed after restrictions on the hospitality industry are lifted, and the Michelin-starred chef will instead focus on his Cornwall restaurants.
Bloomberg's restaurant critic Richard Vines Tweeted the news on the weekend:
Chef Nathan Outlaw says he plans to focus on his business in Cornwall and that, sadly, he doesn't plan to reopen Siren restaurant @TheGoring after the coronavirus lockdown.

Nathan took the helm last summer in line with renovation work at the historic London hotel, after letting go of The Mariners, which Paul and Emma Ainsworth subsequently took over and stepping down from his position at The Capital hotel in late
London establishments are particularly at risk of closure as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, as massively reduced footfall brought about by the halt of tourism and business conducted in the city, with little indication as to when - and indeed if - they will return to their previous levels.
Ongoing and often exorbitant rent costs adding to the financial burden of reopening have seen many in the industry calling for a rent holiday until the end of the year.
However not everyone's hopes of getting off to a successful start have been dampened. Chef Kray Treadwell of Birmingham recently said that he was confident that "the first thing people will want to do is go and eat out" when the hospitality industry is allowed to reopen.
