Taittinger Prix Culinaire International open for entries

Champagne Taittinger and Michel Roux Jr would like to invite chefs to take part in the UK National competition of Le Taittinger – Prix Culinaire International now in its 49th year and often referred to as the ‘Everest of Gastronomy’. Michel Roux Jnr (17)Candidates should be aged between 24 and 39 with more than five years’ experience in the kitchen. Michel Roux Jr has advised that the level of skill required for The Roux Scholarship is a useful benchmark. The selected finalists will have the opportunity to cook in UK final at Roux at Parliament Square on Saturday, September 5 in front of Michel Roux Jr – the UK Presidential Judge and a panel
of ten top chef judges. The Winner in the UK will receive €2,400 (£1,738), from Michel Roux Jr and Vitalie Taittinger on the night, plus go forward to the grand final in Paris on November 23. All UK finalists will receive a Jeroboam of Champagne Taittinger. The winner of the international final will receive €10,000 (£7,200); the runner up €4,800 (£3,455) and the 3rd Prize winner, €2,500 (£1,800). Closing date for entries is August 7 2015.
