Chef Andrew Swann's restaurant the Brazz in Taunton is following Tom Kerridge and also offering a £15 lunch menu

Recently Tom Kerridge announced that, due to the cost of living crisis, three of his restaurants would be running a £15 set menu and now Chef Andrew Swann is offering the same.

Andrew's restaurant the Brazz at The Castle Hotel in Taunton will now be offering a fixed-price lunch menu of £15 for two courses or £20 for three courses from Tuesday to Saturday between midday and 2.30pm.

The menu will have no choice and will feature some of Andrew's classic dishes such as heritage carrot soup with spiced croutons, chicken terrine with apricot and toasted sourdough, followed by Quantock venison cottage pie or Cumberland sausage with creamed potatoes and sage crisps.

While the dessert offering isn't known for certain it may include lemon posset with berry compote or a steamed ginger sponge.

It was reported in the Somerset County Gazette that Andrew Swann said: "I love to see a busy and buzzing dining room full of happy diners and we hope by offering such great value that more people will be able to enjoy lunch out even with things as difficult as they are."

He also explained that the menu would focus on "Simply prepared dishes but with great local produce."

Along with that, Ronan Hunter, Castle Hotel general manager and director said: "As Tom Kerridge states, with a menu like this we won’t make any money from it, but we want to be able to offer people on a tighter budget the opportunity to still come out and enjoy a lovely lunch in Brazz.

"Whilst the current situation with energy prices and rising costs across the board are in many ways more challenging than Covid, it’s a good time to put out a ‘Too good to be true value menu'."

In these challenging times…
