The Staff Canteen Announces PACE competition winner

The Staff Canteen
Despite a slow start The Staff Canteen PACE competition certainly ended on a high with Hopwood, Thanet and Westminster Kingsway colleges all rallying their students. It became apparent that not all colleges had received the e-mail with the competition details on so the date was extend, and after a flurry of activity we gave the colleges and students the four day holiday to encourage any last minute images that could just tip the balance in favour of their college. So, after much counting checking and
counting again the college who posted the most images showing the APP icon on their home screen was Thanet College lead by lecture Rob Allsworth, with Hopwood second and Westminster Kingsway in third place. Thanet win the prizes as detailed below:
  • £1,000 of products from Essential Cuisine
  • £1,000 of competition plates from Villeroy & Boch
  • £500 of Rational Knives plus 3 places at Rational Cook Serve
  • Signed Book from Russums
  • Molecular Gastronomy demo by MSK
The student draw will follow very shortly
Small Contribution. Big Impact.

The Staff Canteen has always been more than a website—it’s a community, built by and for hospitality. We share the wins, the challenges, the graft, and the inspiration that keeps kitchens alive.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
